VALENCIA MARATHON ROUTE
The Valencia Marathon course features a fast, flat, and scenic single-loop course starting near the City of Arts and Sciences and finishing with a dramatic run over water in front of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum. With minimal elevation and wide roads, it’s ideal for personal bests.
Runners pass iconic landmarks such as the Mestalla Stadium, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Torres de Serranos, and the historic city centre, all while enjoying lively crowd support and vibrant city views.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
Getting to Valencia
Valencia Airport (VLC): Known as Manises Airport, is located just 8 km (5 miles) west of the city centre and is the main gateway for international visitors.
• Metro: The quickest way into the city is by Metrovalencia. Lines 3 and 5 connect the airport to central stations such as Xàtiva and Colón in around 20 minutes, costing about €4–€5.
• Bus: Public bus Line 150 runs from the airport to the city centre in 30–40 minutes, with regular departures throughout the day.
• Taxi: Taxis are available directly outside arrivals, with a typical journey to central Valencia taking 15–20 minutes and costing around €20–€25. Ride-hailing services like Cabify and Bolt are also widely used.
• Train: For onward travel, Valencia Joaquín Sorolla Station offers high-speed AVE train connections to cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.
Getting around Valencia
• Metro: The Metrovalencia network is fast, clean, and efficient, connecting key areas of the city and nearby beaches. It’s ideal for travelling quickly between the centre, the old town, and the marathon start/finish zones.
• Cycling & Walking: Valencia is one of Europe’s most cycle-friendly cities, with over 150 km of bike lanes and a public bike-share scheme called Valenbisi. Many of the main attractions are also easily walkable.
• Taxi: Taxis are plentiful and relatively affordable.

Itinerary
DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN VALENCIA
Arrive in Valencia and check into your chosen hotel where one of our Sports Tours reps will be there to welcome you and provide you with support throughout the weekend.
In the evening, join Sports Tours International and other runners for some complimentary welcome drinks. This is a great chance to meet the team and socialise with other fellow runners.
DAY 2 – 5KM SHAKEOUT RUN & PRE RACE BRIEFING
After breakfast, join Sports Tours for a relaxed 5KM shakeout run through the scenic streets of Valencia. A great way to explore some of the city and loosen up ahead of race day.
Afterwards, we’ll host a pre-race briefing where we will give you all the insights and tips for running the Valencia Marathon. We will also answer any questions to ease any nerves, before guiding you to the Valencia Marathon expo to collect your race bib.
DAY 3 – VALENCIA MARATHON
On the day of the Valencia Marathon, you’ll join thousands of runners at the start line at Plaça de la Marató.
Too ensure your morning is stress free, Sports Tours international will escort you to the start line on a shuttle bus, which will also be waiting to pick you up from the finish line to transport you back to your hotel.
In the evening, celebrate your achievement with Sports Tours and other runners, where you will receive some complimentary drinks.
DAY 4 – DEPARTURE DAY
On departure day, please ensure that you check out of the hotel as scheduled and proceed with your onward travel arrangements.
