    Tokyo is home to the 6th and newest of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and 2025 will see the 18th anniversary of the event. With its blend of the old and new, Tokyo provides an incredible venue for one of the world’s greatest marathons.     26 February

    Arrival day

    You will need to leave the UK on Tuesday 26th February 2025 to land Wednesday 27th February 2025 (start of our 5 night package TBC)  If flying from anywhere outside of the UK, please check flights schedules to determine your required departure date.

    Arrive into Tokyo by your chosen airline (flights not included) and make your way to your hotel. Check in is not until 4pm at most hotels, therefore if you arrive prior to this time, the hotel concierge will be able to store your bags. If time permits, you may wish to head straight to the marathon expo to collect your race pack.

     

     

     

    27 February

    Sightseeing and expo

    Sightseeing Tour – Approx. 9am – 3pm with an English Speaking Guide.

    Finishing at the expo where clients will make their own way back to their chosen hotel.

    Tokyo Marathon Expo 2025: Tokyo Marathon Expo 2025 is the largest Running trade show in Japan with an average of 60,000 visitors annually. In order to register for the Tokyo Marathon 2025 it is vital that you attend the expo before the race in order to pick up your race number. Race numbers will NOT be available on the day of the race. When picking up your number make sure to bring a valid photo ID and the confirmation of your entry, you cannot arrange for another person to pick up your number for you.

    The Tokyo Marathon Expo 2025 venue is:

    Tokyo Big Sight South Exhibition Halls
    3-11-1 Ariake, Koto, Tokyo, Japan

    The venue will be open during the following times (TBC):  

    • Thursday 29th: 10:00am – 9:00pm
    • Friday 1st: 10:00am – 9:00pm
    • Saturday 2nd: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00pm

    Expo and free day

    If you have not yet been to the expo then you can head there today to register for the race and pick up your number. Otherwise this is a free day for you to enjoy Tokyo.

    1 March

    Tokyo Marathon International Friendship Run

    Today is the day of the Tokyo Marathon International Friendship Run 2025, open to runners and spectators. The distance is approx. 5km. If you wish to take part, please select this as an optional extra within the booking process. £TBC

    If you are not taking part on the Tokyo Marathon International Friendship Run 2025, you have a free day to sightsee, or head to the marathon expo to collect your race pack if you have not done so already.

     

     

     

    2 March

    The 2025 Tokyo Marathon

    This is the day of the Tokyo Marathon 2025. An early breakfast will be available at your chosen hotel this morning with the time TBC within your travel itinerary.

    Marathon Times: TBC
    09.05 – Wheelchair Start
    09.10 – Marathon Start
    16.10 – Finish

    The start location is right outside the Keio Plaza and the starting corals are quite easy to get to from our hotel. You can hand in a personal bag at the start of the race and pick it up at the end from the Tokyo Hibiya Area at the end of the race. At the end of the marathon, you will be transferred back to your booked hotel by official buses (a coach pass/sticker or wristband will be given to you by our staff at the hotel). The rest of the day you are free to rest and celebrate.

    Tokyo Marathon After Run Party

    There is a Tokyo Marathon Celebration After Run Party held this evening. The After Run Party takes place at the historic and beautiful Happo-En Mansion at 1-1-1 Shiroganadei, Minato-ku. (TBC) The shuttle bus to the venue leaves the hotel at 18:30 and leaves Happo-En just after 21:30. Join runners and companions to enjoy Japanese food, Sake, live music and entertainment. Runners and spectators are welcome. Transfers are included. A special night to remember from your trip to Tokyo. It is in our opinion by far the best post-marathon party of any marathon in the world.

     

    4 March

    Departure day

    It’s time to finish your Tokyo adventure. Alternatively, if you wish to extend your trip to Japan, extra nights available on a request basis, subject to availability and cost. Please ensure you check out of the hotel in good time.

    Plane +

    Tokyo has two airports, Narita International Airport and more centrally located Haneda Airport. Narita Airport is located about 60 kilometres outside of Tokyo. Haneda Airport is located 29.8km outside of Tokyo.

    Car +

    It is recommended to take a bus/coach or train into central Tokyo from both airports as taxis can be expensive due to distance and traffic.

    Train +

    There are a variety of trains (Narita) and also Monorail (Haneda) to get into central Tokyo. The journey times and prices vary.

    The course +

    The Tokyo Marathon begins in front of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building and from there takes you on a tour past various landmarks and Tokyo Station before finishing at the Imperial Palace. The marathon Start Time is 9.10 am on Sunday 3rd March 2024. Time limit is 7 hours, based on gun time, not chip time.

    Does my luggage get transported to my hotel? +

    If airport transfers are included in your package, we will transfer you and your Luggage to the hotel. If you are on a cycling holiday, we will also transfer your bike.

    Do you cater for children? +

    Children are welcome on our trips with the exception of some Hospitality packages.

    Can Vegetarians, Vegans or special diets be catered for? +

    Any dietary requirements e.g., Vegetarian or Vegan etc needs to be advised to us at booking stage. We will then request the meals with the relevant hotel.

    Can I extend my stay along the way? +

    Stays can be extended beyond our standard packages subject to availability at the relevant hotel.

    How can I pay for my holiday? +

    Packages can be paid for online or over the phone by Credit/debit card or Amex, payments can also be made by Bank transfer.

    Do I need travel insurance? +

    Travel insurance is always advised and is best taken out at the time of making a booking.

    What happens if I have to cancel? Will I lose money? +

    Cancelation charges are applicable in the event you cannot travel. Please refer to the booking conditions page.

    Can I change the date after I’ve booked? +

    Subject to amendment fees and hotel availability dates can be changed after initial booking.

    Will anyone from your team meet me during my stay? +

    Dependent on the trip booked we will have representatives on the package this will be outlined in the individual tour. If we have no representation a 24-hour telephone number will be provided.

    Can I travel on my own? +

    Yes, we cater for solo travellers, we can offer single rooms or twin share rooms

    What is twin to share? +

    On many of our travel packages we offer our free ‘Twin to Share’ service where you pay to share a room rather than the supplement for a single room. We encourage single travellers to join our tours and rooms for single occupancy are available on all our tours, but we also offer the opportunity to book our ‘Twin to Share’ service. This option which means that we pair you up with another athlete of the same sex so you can enjoy the event without having to pay the single occupancy supplement.

    Is the entry guaranteed? +

    All our entries are Guaranteed there is no ballot, lottery or fundraising required once your entry is paid it is guaranteed.

    Do I need to pay a deposit? +

    A deposit will be required at time of booking to secure your place.

    How do I manage a Sports Tours booking? +

    Once booked online you will be able to view and make payments on your account.

    When will I receive my tickets? +

    Itineraries will be sent on all trips around 14 days prior to departure
