Itinerary

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL DAY

Please make your own travel arrangements to Rome. Once you have arrived at your hotel, our Sports Tours team will be available to assist with checking in and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to use the rest of the day to explore all Rome has to offer.

In the evening, join us for welcome drinks in the hotel bar, a perfect opportunity for solo travellers to meet like-minded runners. You can also use this day to collect your race bib from the expo – Expo Run Rome at the Circus Maximus, 00186, Roma.

DAY 2 – 5K SHAKEOUT RUN & SIGHTSEEING TOUR

In the morning we will be leading a group shake-out run guided by your Sports Tours rep. We will then host a pre-race briefing to provide you with key details for the weekend, a breakdown of the marathon course, and what to expect on race day! The sight-seeing walking tour is included in the package and will start mid morning.

If you haven’t collected your race bib, your sports tours rep will escort you to the expo for pick up.

DAY 3 – ROME MARATHON RACE DAY

Today is race day! While you take on the marathon course, all friends and family are welcomed to the official Sports Tours cheer zone along the course. There will also be post race celebrations to celebrate your achievement.

In October 2020, FIDAL (Italian Federation of Athletics) made official that non-Italian citizens have the option to participate in marathons as competitive runners or as non-competitive runners. So there is no need for a medical certificate for athletes and a registration with runcard. The athletes will be starting as non-competitive runners, but their race time is valid, even if it will not be displayed in the general leaderboard, but it will be available next to the athletes name in alphabetical order.

DAY 4 – DEPARTURE DAY

With so much to see and explore in Rome, you can spend today sightseeing and enjoying the city before travelling home.

Accommodation

Multiple stay and duration options. Our packages include accommodation and a post marathon after party including celebratory drinks and food.
