    The Paris Half Marathon or ‘Harmonie Mutuelle Semi de Paris’ will take place on Sunday 3rd March 2024. Run in the romantic charm of the “City of Love”, through the iconic streets of Paris. The route will take you past some of the city’s most well known landmarks. The ‘Semi de Paris’ is a World Athletics Bronze Label race and attracts 40,000 runners from across France and the rest of Europe.

    Famous for its iconic landmarks and romantic culture, Paris is a hotspot for tourists all year round. This iconic city comes to life when the streets are filled with over 40,000 runners, and thousands of supporters. With musical entertainment along the way, the Paris Half Marathon is a magical event in a wonderful city.

    While in Paris, take in some of the famous sites this wonderful city has to offer. The best way to explore is by foot or by a guided tour which takes in may of the Paris’s most popular tourist attractions. Take in a Moulin Rouge Show, a Bateaux Parisien Dinner Cruise, the Eifel Tower, or enjoy a panoramic city tour.

    The Hotel Le Marceau Bastille is ideally located for the half marathon weekend and is close to the Place de la Bastille and the Gare de Lyon station. The historic Marais district, the Palais omnisport de Paris-Bercy, the Jardin des Plantes and Notre-Dame are all within easy walking distance. During your stay, take in the sights of the salon-bar in the Art Gallery or the flowered patio, warm up for the half marathon in the fitness room or make the most of the selection of treatments in the wellness centre.

    Hotel check in is 2pm, hotel check out by 12pm.

    1 March

    Arrival day

    Arrive in Paris by your own travel arrangements and make your way to the Hotel Le Marceau Bastille. Depending on your arrival time, you will have the opportunity to attend the marathon expo. You can collect your bib on Friday from 10.00 until 19.30. This evening your Sports Tours International representative will organise a welcome meeting so that all of our runners can get to know each other ahead of the weekend.

    Travel Around Paris – Metro

    A single metro ticket costs €1.90, and can be used for one journey, including all connections. White-coloured tickets can be purchased singly or in a book of 10 (“carnet”) for €16, at the ticket offices or machines in metro stations, and also in some tobacconists. Keep hold of your ticket until you have completed your journey, as you may be asked to show it if tickets are being inspected.

    2024 Paris Marathon medical certificate: To be able to take part in the Paris Marathon, you require a medical certificate. You can download the 2024 Paris Marathon medical certificate form here and get it signed by your doctor.

     

    2 March

    Your Sports Tours representative will do a guided trip to and from the expo today to collect your race pack. You can collect your bib from 09.00 until 19.30. The Semi de Paris expo village and registration is located at Grande Halle de La Villette, 211 Avenue Jean James. Enjoy the rest of the day to explore the city of Paris. Spend your day climbing to the top of the Eiffel Tower, grab a selfie in front of the Arc de Triomphe or spend the day browsing the local shops and tasting the local cuisine. This evening we will hold an informal meeting at the hotel with some hints and tips for the half marathon tomorrow.

     

    3 March

    Race day!

    Today is the day! Grab your trainers as you take your spot on the Paris Half Marathon starting line. From the hotel it takes about 3-5 minutes on foot to get to the start and, as the finish is in a similar location, another 3-5 minutes to get back again after. Your Sports Tours rep will do a guided trip over to the start this morning. The race start and finish is at the Place de la Bastille.

    4 March

    Departure day

    After breakfast, check out of the hotel by 12pm where you will then have time to explore Paris before your return or onward journey. If you wish to extend your stay in Paris please contact our sales team on 0161 703 8161.

    Half Marathon race entry +

    £60 per person

    2024 Paris Half Marathon medical certificate: To be able to take part in the Paris Marathon, you require a medical certificate. You can download the 2024 Paris Marathon medical certificate form here and get it signed by your doctor.

     

    Plane +

    Paris Charles De Gaulle is the main International Airport and it is 34km outside of Paris. There is also Paris Orly Airport which is 19.4km outside of Paris.

    Bus +

    Bus transfer from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the centre of Paris takes approx. 80 minutes. There is a choice of six routes by airport bus from from three separate services. All services terminate in different parts of Paris, so you will need to check the service you need.

    Train +

    Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris is best by taking the RER B airport city train leaving from either CDG Terminal 2 or Roissypole (for CDG Terminal 1 and CDG Terminal 3 passengers). Orly does not have a train station and requires Metro then train to central Paris.

    The course +

    The Paris Half Marathon continues to grow in popularity year by year, and it is easy to see why. The course starts and a finishes within Paris city centre, giving the big day more of a buzz than ever! Like with any race held in this marvellous city, you’ll admire the capital’s many emblematic monuments: Bastille, Rue de Rivoli, Hôtel de Ville, Quais de Seine, the Bois de Vincennes and its Château, and Pont de Tolbiac. Running enthusiasts, sponsors and exhibitors gather for the 2 days leading up to the Paris Half Marathon. There will be a huge amount of support for the runners, as many spectators line the Parisian streets to cheer you on, and there are even several musical events along the way, adding to the incredible atmosphere of the event. The course is relatively flat, allowing a significant number of runners to beat their personal bests.

    Does my luggage get transported to my hotel? +

    If airport transfers are included in your package, we will transfer you and your Luggage to the hotel. If you are on a cycling holiday, we will also transfer your bike.

    Do you cater for children? +

    Children are welcome on our trips with the exception of some Hospitality packages.

    Can Vegetarians, Vegans or special diets be catered for? +

    Any dietary requirements e.g., Vegetarian or Vegan etc needs to be advised to us at booking stage. We will then request the meals with the relevant hotel.

    Can I extend my stay along the way? +

    Stays can be extended beyond our standard packages subject to availability at the relevant hotel.

    How can I pay for my holiday? +

    Packages can be paid for online or over the phone by Credit/debit card or Amex, payments can also be made by Bank transfer.

    Do I need travel insurance? +

    Travel insurance is always advised and is best taken out at the time of making a booking.

    What happens if I have to cancel? Will I lose money? +

    Cancelation charges are applicable in the event you cannot travel. Please refer to the booking conditions page.

    Can I change the date after I’ve booked? +

    Subject to amendment fees and hotel availability dates can be changed after initial booking.

    Will anyone from your team meet me during my stay? +

    Dependent on the trip booked we will have representatives on the package this will be outlined in the individual tour. If we have no representation a 24-hour telephone number will be provided.

    Can I travel on my own? +

    Yes, we cater for solo travellers, we can offer single rooms or twin share rooms

    What is twin to share? +

    On many of our travel packages we offer our free ‘Twin to Share’ service where you pay to share a room rather than the supplement for a single room. We encourage single travellers to join our tours and rooms for single occupancy are available on all our tours, but we also offer the opportunity to book our ‘Twin to Share’ service. This option which means that we pair you up with another athlete of the same sex so you can enjoy the event without having to pay the single occupancy supplement.

    Is the entry guaranteed? +

    All our entries are Guaranteed there is no ballot, lottery or fundraising required once your entry is paid it is guaranteed.

    Do I need to pay a deposit? +

    A deposit will be required at time of booking to secure your place.

    How do I manage a Sports Tours booking? +

    Once booked online you will be able to view and make payments on your account.

    When will I receive my tickets? +

    Itineraries will be sent on all trips around 14 days prior to departure
