FRANKFURT MARATHON ROUTE
The Mainova Frankfurt Marathon is known for its fast and flat course, mostly taking place on wide main streets. In 2011, Kenyan runner Wilson Kipsang won the Frankfurt Marathon, setting the current course record of 2:03:42.
The Frankfurt Marathon 2027 route takes runners through the heart of Germany’s financial capital, combining striking city skyline views with historic neighbourhoods and stretches alongside the River Main. Starting near Messe Frankfurt, the largely flat course winds through the city centre and banking district before crossing the river into Sachsenhausen and continuing through the western districts towards Höchst.
Runners then make their way back towards the city centre along long, relatively flat roads, providing an excellent opportunity to maintain a consistent pace. The race finishes in spectacular style inside the iconic Festhalle, where runners cross the finish line on a red carpet beneath the venue’s impressive domed roof. With its fast course, lively crowd support and memorable indoor finish, Frankfurt is an excellent choice for runners chasing a personal best or experiencing a major European marathon.
