Our 45th Anniversary year

It all began with Vince Regan, our founder, organising our first trips to international marathons back in the 1970s.  Vince was an ex-international marathon runner and he could see the appeal for runners in travelling to participate in marathons abroad. This happened just as the running craze started to boom.
   
One of his first trips was to the New York City Marathon, where Vince helped pioneer the concept of the International Travel Partner which is now very common today for both running and cycling events around the world.  Vince also became involved in the creation of the London Marathon and Sports Tours International took the responsibility for looking after the entries for international runners. An honour we still hold to this day.

45 years later we’ve taken thousands of athletes to hundreds of events. We learn on every single trip and this helps us improve our service for all our customers, as we ensure the very best experience and great value for money.

As a result, we frequently receive excellent reviews and feedback from customers. We are very proud of this and New York City Marathon this year was no exception – please see below.

Staff Experience

We are passionate about the Sports in the trips that we offer. Our dedicated team working for us in our UK office and overseas  are keen runners and/or cyclists.  Many train all year, race* or have raced and they love nothing more than using their experience to help customers.

*this includes Cyclo Sportives, Cyclo-Cross, MTB, Track Cycling, Time-Trialing, Ultra Races, Marathons, Triathlons including Ironman, Fell-Races, 10ks and of course fun runs!

Own part of our Heritage.

During the 80’s running boom, our founder Vince started the Bolton Marathon and at the same time, Norman Walsh UK released specialist marathon shoes, to satisfy the huge increase in runners. We have collaborated with Norman Walsh UK, who are now Britain’s last and only remaining sports footwear manufacturer, to present a limited edition heritage running shoe!

Vince very sadly died of cancer 5 years ago, therefore we will donate all profits from the sale of these shoes to the charity Prostate Cancer UK.

The shoe consists of classic British colours and is made from classic British manufacturing in honour of classic British sport. Celebrate our history with this unique running shoe!
