If you love running and you want to continue running marathons throughout the winter months then this is the race for you. Starting in 2012 with just 135 entrants, the Muscat Marathon (now known as the Al Mouj Muscat Marathon) has quickly grown to become one of the star events in Oman’s sporting calendar.

The two day festival of running features not only the marathon but also a Half Marathon, 10k, kids’ race and charity fun run.

With January temperatures averaging around a balmy 20°-21°, Muscat is a great option for those looking for a winter challenge away from the UK’s biting winter.

The events

The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon features a great choice of events taking place over two days.

Friday 18th January

Marathon – 42.195km

Marathon Relay – 42.195km

Half Marathon – 21.0975km

10km Run – 10km

Saturday 19th January 2019

Kids Run – 1km/2km/3km

Charity Fun Run – 5km

A land of culture, history and breath-taking scenery

If you have never visited Oman then you are in for a treat.

When the running is over there is a myriad of things to see and do.
