Bike travel and transport with Sports Tours International

When you travel to take part in an international cycling tour or event with Sports Tours International, you have a number of options of what to do about a bike. Many people prefer to ride their own bike as they are used to the set up which is important for longer endurance events.

  1. Fly with your own bike – More information on charges and considerations can be found here (LINK TO AIRLINE CHARGES PAGE)
  2. Fly but ship your bike using a door to door overland bike transport service – more information below
  3. Fly but use a courier service
  4. Rent a bike – more information below

1. Fly with your own bike

We have put together a great post about the various airlines and what they charge to transport your bike for you. Have a look her (link post) here

2. Overland bike transport from the UK

We understand that not everyone is too keen on taking their bike on a flight, either because they have had a bad experience or they do not want to take any risks with potential damage or loss. We recommend booking with our partners at Cycle transfer who offer a DOOR TO DOOR overland bike transport service for fully assembled bikes so no need for a bike box.

3. Rent a bike

We have again expanded our bike rental offering for the new cycling season. Many of our events and multi-day tours now offer the option to add bike rental. The bike will be available for you on arrival and then collected when you depart. All you need to bring is a helmet, pedals and cycling clothes. For prices and details of the exact logistics, please refer to the below links for each event’s travel package
