What’s so special about Challenge Roth?

Challenge Roth is not only the biggest long distance Triathlon in the world, it’s also the best organised and it has the best race atmosphere and crowds. For those reasons it’s extremely difficult to get an entry and the event sells out within minutes every year. The course is fast

Like the Berlin Marathon which is the World Marathon record course, Challenge Roth is the record breaker in long distance Triathlon. This adds another dimension to your experience. Even though Tim Don recently broke the Ironman branded race course record with a 7:40:23 at the Ironman South American Championship in Florianopolis, Germany’s Jan Frodeno holds the overall record for fastest iron-distance race. Frodeno did 7:35:39 at Challenge Roth (a non-Ironman event) to break the previous record of 7:41:33 by Andreas Raelert, which was also set in Roth.

Challenge Roth has history and tradition in a relatively new sport

The event was founded in 1984 and it became part of the Ironman portfolio in 1988. In 2010 the race was taken over by a local family and continued as an independent race and high profile athletes like Chris McCormack, Chrissie Wellington, Jan Frodeno and Sebastian Kienle built the event’s reputation over the years.

It is an amazing experience

These days the best pro Triathletes in the world join 6,000 age-groupers at the start-line and the course highlights are the canal swim, the Solarer Berg climb, the ‘beer mile’ and the finish line amphitheatre. Unlike the majority of other Triathlons, there are enormous crowds that line the roads to cheer you on. The whole weekend is not just an experience for Triathletes, your family and supporters will also have a great time.

How to take part in the 2020 Challenge Roth

As part of Challenge Roth’s commitment for the event to be an international race and for international Triathletes to discover Roth and the rest of Bavaria, entry slots have been made available as part of a tour package that includes accommodation, assistance with all the in-resort logistics included like airport and in-resort transfers as well as special functions and specially produced merchandise.

You have the choice to stay either in Nuremebrg or in Roth itself for 4, 5 or 7 nights with breakfasts, bike storage and lots of extras included.
